 NEW Majestic Cinema, Mitcham

NEW - CMM Mitcham Majestic cinema - details down the page.

Card kits of cinema buildings in 1/76 scale suitable for use on OO gauge model railway layouts and in dioramas for model road vehicles.

The range includes names of cinema chains of the past - Odeon, Gaumont, Embassy, Kinema, Majestic, Dominion, Capitol and ABC - and a variety of stunning architecture designed to bring something exotic to the High Street.

Most of the kits are half relief (they have no back)

The aim has been to provide distinctive buildings which reflect typical British townscapes of the mid to late twentieth century.

The kits are on stout card approximately 1.25mm thick. The parts need to be cut out with a knife and steel rule. Bostik All Purpose adhesive is recommended for assembly. Thinner card is used for some parts. Please note that some of the cinema models include curved parts formed from thinner card which can provide an opportunity for experienced kit builders to show off their skills!

See HERE for what involved in assembling a kit.

All are to 1/76 scale and are based on real buildings.

Kingston Kinema card kit 1/76 scale

The Kingston Kinema cinema received a 'modern' makeover in the early 60s. Later it was rebranded Studio 7. In neither of these incarnations was it an especially attractive building.

It was however next door to the renowned Kingston Bus Station. The model makes a good companion to the bus station model which can be seen on the LT Central Garages page.

The model has no back, being 'half relief', but is the same depth as the Kingston bus station model.

 Paving not included.
